I recently began using white vinegar in my laundry in lieu of purchased fabric softener. It leaves my laundry smelling clean and fresh.
I've found that towels dry much better because they no longer have the 'residue' left by fabric softeners. Clothes look and smell cleaner.
I also use white vinegar instead of hair conditioner. It leaves my hair fresh and clean, without the residue left by expensive shampoo's.

Thanks for the info Jill
Besides using white vinegar as a replacement for fabric softener you probably also find your colors come out brighter. This is because, in addition to replacing the chemicals in fabric softener, vinegar also helps remove residual detergent from the material. It is the residual detergent that cause your clothes to appear faded.
This is one of the reasons my family has totally eliminated detergent from our wash.
I have not yet built a page about vinegar as a hair conditioner so am interested in hearing about the process you use. If you would like to give us some details you could add it to my page Vinegar Uses
Thank you so much for your contribution.
